OLD BUSINESS

Partner Fund:  Sue read the thank you note sent by Kim Garcia at Leon High School, who will be using the funds for her summer math camps.

Mansfield Fund:  Dean read the thank you note sent by June Lee of Leon High School, who wrote a wonderful letter about the importance and effect of her journalism experience at Leon.

Winthrop Park:  Margie had called the City about an additional recycle bin being placed near the big pavilion.  Although we had approved funds at the last meeting for this bin, the City contact said they will put one there at no charge to us.

Garage Sales:   Neither Mary Kay nor Mike Brezin were at the meeting to give an update about the issue of continuing garage sales at a residence.

NEW BUSINESS

Partners Fund:  Donna Legare asked if we would approve awarding Kate Sullivan Elementary School their Partners funds at the beginning of the school year rather than the end as they want to use these funds for an edible gardening project.  They have the volunteers and the knowledge, but need funds to purchase materials.  The Board approved $300 to be sent at the beginning of the school year for this project.

Our next meeting will be held Sept. 1, 2011.  The meeting was adjourned at 8:05 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Margie McInnes, pinch hitting for Melissa Jacoby, Secretary
