home sales. He also requested
recommendations for discounts and items to be included in the welcome packages.
CONA:
As BHNA was designated Neighborhood of the Year in 2009, the Board will
not submit an application for 2010. The Board voted to nominate Donna Legare for
the 2010 Neighbor of the Year award.
Mary Kay Falconer will prepare the nomination and will request
information from Mike Brezin. The
nomination is due on March 24.
Spring Event: The date is May 2, from 3 until 5 p.m. Tom Schulte advised that Bill Jones agreed to
arrange for musicians. The Board voted
to approve up to $200 for music. Dean
Hansen will contact the Red Elephant about pizzas. Mary Kay Falconer will contact Tami Frankland
about overseeing children’s activities at the event. Tom Schulte will contact Andy Fink about
signs. Additional assignments will be
discussed at the April meeting.
Eric Thorn suggested that the Board
consider endorsing the informal July 4th fireworks display that has
occurred for eight years at Harriman Circle.
The Board
discussed the positive response of many neighbors, the track record of safety
and success of the event as well as the permitting requirements, potential
liability and costs. The Board took no
action to endorse the event.
Eric Thorn will prepare an article for
the upcoming newsletter to identify residents who might need assistance in the
event of a disaster. Eric agreed to
compile the information.
The Board authorized the expenditure of
up to $200 for a tree to be planted at Gretchen Everhart School in memory of
former Board Member Vickie Schwartz’s son Geoffery. Hilda will coordinate the selection and
planting of the tree.
There being no further business, the
meeting was adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Melissa Jacoby, Secretary
