The annual Arbor Day event will be held on February 6, from 9 until 11 a.m.  Donna Legare recommended that we plant about 20 magnolia trees in the open area of McCord Park.  Donna will contact park staff for their approval and to determine possible reaction of neighbors who prefer an open view of McCord pond.  The Board approved up to $700 for purchase of the magnolias.  The Board also approved expenditure of $80 for predator guards for the purple martin houses.

Shawn Einarson spoke with Andrea Griffith, City Neighborhood Services, about a link to the BHNA website.   Due to her increased workload because of budget reductions, Ms. Griffith advised that she would need concurrence of her supervisor before she was able to agree.  She will let us know.   Ms. Griffith asked for historical information about Betton Hills.  Shawn will collect information from Dean Hansen and Mary Kay and provide it.

Melissa Jacoby reported that neighborhood Christmas caroling was fun and was well attended.

New Business:

Future expenditures:  The Board confirmed that payment for website revisions was appropriate.  Mary Kay will obtain information from JT.

Melissa Jacoby will provide Tom Schulte with contact information of additional residents who have volunteered to be on the Board.

Margie McGinnes discussed additional neighborhood activities such as luminarias, fall hayrides and Fourth of July decorations and Christmas wreaths on the neighborhood signs.  Andy Grayson raised concerns over liability for hayrides.  Melissa will contact Pat Brueckheimer who volunteered to decorate the neighborhood signs and ask that she attend a future meeting.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 8:30.

Respectfully submitted,

Melissa Jacoby, Secretary
