Newsletter:  Shawn is working on the fall newsletter and needs assistance with content.  The newsletter will be distributed to all Betton Hills residents by October 1.  The newsletter will include announcement of the upcoming annual meeting, highlights of the last year, dues information, the CONA energy challenge (BHNA currently ranks #2), information about the Edible Gardening Club and the 2009 Neighborhood of the Year award.

The Annual Meeting and Ice Cream Social will be held on Sunday, October 18, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m.  Mary Kay will complete necessary forms to reserve Winthrop Park pavilion.  Margie will arrange for the Leon High Steel Band to perform.  Other details will be discussed at the October 1 board meeting.

CONA:  Melissa gave a report of the August CONA workshop which again centered on crime prevention and emergency response activities.  Big Bend Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD) will be developing a template for neighborhood emergency plans. When the template is complete, the board will explore the feasibility of implementing an emergency plan for Betton Hills.   Tom Schulte will obtain additional crime watch program information to determine whether a neighborhood crime watch should be reinstated.  Melissa will continue to serve as CONA liaison until a replacement is identified.  CONA will be holding a delegate meeting in December.

New Business:  Andy Grayson is looking for suggestions for projects for group of Eagle Scouts.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 8:45.

Respectfully submitted,
